Functional narrative

Small proline-rich 2 protein 2E is a member of the cornifin (SPRR) family of proteins which are associated with the cornified cell envelope of squamous cells of the skin. This protein can be located in the cytoplasm until it interacts directly with TGase 1, 2, or 3 at which point it can be found bound the cell membrane. Both the C and N terminus of this protein are disordered when the protein is in the cytoplasm. These disordered regions then undergo a disorder to order transition to interact with TGase 1, 2, or 3.
